COREY TAYLOR ‘Conflicted’ About Continuing SLIPKNOT
SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor says he doesn’t want to make any rash statements about the band’s future following the recent passing of bassist Paul Gray and is focusing, for the time being, on promoting “Audio Secrecy”, the new album from his other band, STONE SOUR.
“It’s kind of a gray area right now,” Taylor tells in FMQB Productions‘ radio special, “Inside Stone Sour: Audio Secrecy”. “Everybody is still feeling it. It’s too soon to tell.
Paul was the whole reason that the band was the way it was… Paul was the glue and the orchestrator behind some of the best music we ever wrote. He was the soul of the band.

"I'm very conflicted about whether or not I want to do anything with SLIPKNOT, because to me, Paul was such an integral part of the band.
“I don’t want to make any statements that I’ll look like a fool in retrospect, but to me, right now, it just doesn’t make sense,” Taylor says. “Until it does, that’s the way it stays for me. That’s why I’ve been saying it’s too soon to tell… you never know.”
§§ Comment: I totally agree with Corey on this one! Some of Slipknots best was due to the genius that was Paul Gray. He will be sorely missed. While we hate to see Slipknot be buried with Paul, we totally get it!
New Adds To The Rotation
Against All Will's song "The Drug I Need" is just one of the great songs we added to rotation this week. Man, there is allot of great music out there to add to our rotation. Plus, we have been going back through our thousands of songs in our archives to see what we have not added or played in awhile. That netted us another 60+ songs. We have a very diverse playlist that thousands world-wide count on to get them through their day. Listen To The §§ Here Are Just Some Of The Recent Adds.

Featured Artist: Texas Hippie Coalition
It happens all the time! Every type genre mixing. matching, and fornicating into sub-genres. Sometime they work, sometimes they don’t! In the case of Southern Metal, it did. Especially for bands like THC, The Texas Hippie Coalition.
About The Band
Big Dad Ritch, Randy Cooper and John Exall found each other in Denison, Texas. Being a small town with a very limited amount of musicians, rival bands were forced to work together to set up road trips to cities, such as Dallas, in order to play shows. Originally starting in rival bands, Ritch, Randy and John banded together and started playing, writing and eventually recording together.
Shortly thereafter, Texas Hippie Coalition emerged from The Red River Valley that borders Northern Texas and Southern Oklahoma and began touring in support of their self-released album Pride of Texas. They toured from coast-to-coast, putting themselves in front of fans everywhere with their style of music dubbed “red dirt metal.”
Our Checkered Past
Ok so here we are \m/
We had listeners ask about our blog. When we’d write back, “What Blog?”, we could almost see the WTF look on their faces! So here we are! My music director “Buzz” finally convinced me after all the kicking and screaming!
In the blog we plan on doing allot of things. Plan on seeing song reviews, videos, news and blatant attempts to sell you mp3‘s via our Amazon links. Well, we gotta pay for all this somehow ![]()
While your at it, why not visit the station site and listen to us!

AM/FM Radio? That’s So Last Century!
Unless you live on the planet “Clueless” you are well aware of the impact of Internet radio on our everyday lives. Literally tens of thousands of stations are a virtual click away. With the advent of satellite radio in cars and now streaming Internet radio, why would any normal person want to be subjected to the earache that is mainstream corporate radio?
Ok enter…”US”. While you can hear some of what we play on any FM active rock station out there, you won’t hear the majority of the songs we play on FM. Is that a good thing? Well, HELLYEAH is a good example. This heavy metal super group was being played in rotation before FM. A great new band “Craving Lucy” was also in heavy rotation here before FM had a clue. That’s the great thing about Internet radio. Most stations are run by everyday music lovers that don’t have to answer to a bunch of deadheads in suits. We can play what we want, when we want. Well, within the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act). Many times program and music directors listen to Internet stations to find music.
So no matter what type of music you are into, it’s out there! Like the big bands, got ya covered, want only female rock songs, done. If you can think it, there is someone broadcasting it! Of course you can also hear a ton of FM-isk Internet stations out there. But, that’s ok, 99% are not carbon copies. Remember… crap in… crap out!
One of the great services out there today is a company called Live365, which started back in the last century. 1999 to be exact. Over the years there have been a lot of changes. But change can be good. Like thousands of stations and 260 different genres. So when I said you could listen to just about anything you can think of, I wasn’t kidding. So, what are you waiting on? Crank up them speakers and let’s listen to… ahh… the sweet sounds of Lawrence Welk. Ok well maybe not that. But, if you wanted to, there are 46 stations that do play exactly that!
